Phantom to end Monad network support on August 26
Phantom is dropping Monad support on August 26, 2026. Here's what happens to your assets and the two ways to migrate before the deadline.
Phantom, the multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet, announced that it will discontinue support for the Monad network on August 26, 2026, after which it will no longer display Monad balances, process Monad transactions, or list Monad as an available network. Users will be unable to view, send, swap, or interact with any Monad-native assets directly inside the Phantom mobile app or browser extension.
Phantom stressed that no assets will be lost, since the wallet is fully self-custodial and all funds remain on the Monad blockchain, controlled solely by the user's Secret Recovery Phrase.
"Your assets are not lost. They remain on the Monad blockchain and can be accessed using a compatible wallet with the same credentials."
What users need to do
Phantom is rolling out in-app notifications with links to detailed guidance, and users holding Monad assets have two primary options.
- Swap inside Phantom, converting native MON tokens to wrapped MON on Solana, or other supported assets such as SOL, ETH, or USDC, before August 26. Phantom has waived its own fee on this specific cross-chain swap through the transition date, though network and exchange fees still apply.
- Migrate to another wallet by exporting the Secret Recovery Phrase from Phantom (Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase) and importing it into any Monad-compatible wallet, a list of which is available on Monad's official documentation. This step can be completed before or after the August 26 cutoff.
Once the change takes effect, Monad will simply disappear from Phantom's interface, though users who take no action before the deadline can still recover their assets at any time by importing their recovery phrase into a supported Monad wallet, since the funds stay on-chain and under the owner's control.
