Part 1: The Beginning

Nobody knows exactly when it began.

At first, the changes were small.

A street sign disappearing.

A building losing a floor.

Things noticeable enough to feel wrong, but not noticeable enough to remember.

That was only the beginning

Over time the disappearances became impossible to ignore.

Entire streets vanished overnight.

Landmarks that had stood for centuries were suddenly gone.

Maps no longer matched the world around them.

People argued over what had always been there.

Were they ever really there?

The first person disappeared on a Tuesday.

Or was it a Wednesday?

No one could remember their name.

No one could remember their face.

All that's left is a faint memory of...

Who are we talking about again?

At first, people assumed it was just confusion.

Stress.

Bad sleep.

The kind of thing you shrug off and stop talking about.

But the problem wasn’t that the memory was fading
it was that it changed depending on who you asked.

Two people would describe the same absence and disagree on what was missing in the first place.

Then the inconsistencies started spreading.

People started disappearing.

At first no one thought much of it.

People go missing every day.

One disappearance wasn't enough to care about.

Then it happened again.

And again.

Each disappearance was different.

Different places.

Different lives.

Different stories.

The only thing they had in common was-

Familiar faces became harder to find.
